1930(?) Holy Bible NT Pronouncing Version, ABS
Tuesday December 12-20-2022: Notes by Marc William White (1965) & Jo Ann White (1938), together, mother and son. Exact date of printing unknown, will need to research it which will be fun! Holy Bible New Testament Pronouncing Version with Book of Psalms, American Bible Society, Made in America, New York. Octavo. 10″ x 6.5″ x 2″. Unique rare large print single column Holy Bible. Original leather or imitation leather binding but totally unbound, both binding covers present with various end pages. Starts on page 29.
This Holy Bible was discovered and found by Marc William White in the home of Wilma Lucille White & Samuel Arthur White at The Big House on The Triple J Round Rock Ranch on approx. December 4th or 5th 2022, in the “front bedroom” down in the lower green cabinet, to the left, possibly in there untouched for 23 years, since Lucille’s passing (1999) and sleeping as she waits for Jesus Christ’s return. First 28 pages missing, although includes main title page, starts at the end of Matthew Chapter 8, The Book of Psalms title page is present but last part seems to be missing, some silver fish damage but generally most pages are complete and in good shape. Various browning especially where other material was left inserted.
Contains various literature from their daughter Jo Ann White, a letter from granddaughter Susan’s husband Mike Fleming and Susan Dawson written before Casey Dawson was born there son. Has a copy of The Anchor News from Brother Lloyd Johnson from West Tennessee. A pamphlet was inside “United States in Prophecy” along with the letter from Mike and Suzy, returned to Jo Ann but with gratitude and a call for basically one world religion or for all religions to “get along as Jesus wants”, so there can be an end to bigotry, racism, and hate, possibly written by Mike.
Located inside is a very old letter, written on school lined paper in pencil, starting to fade with browning, with the name Jack in the contents, and it mentions Catholics, and we know Samuel Arthur White’s sister Aunt Louise White (Downing) married Jack Downing who was Catholic. Jo Ann also says, it could be “nannies bible” which would be Pearl Elizabeth (Hatcher) White, Lucille’s mother in law, Sam’s mother, Jo’s grandmother, Marc’s great grandmother, Samuel Yu’s (Marc’s son) great great grandmother. Jo says “I feel like it is nannies bible”. Does not and likely did not contain the old testament, only new testament and book of psalms.
